Worried about scams, AI, or being left behind online?
You're not alone — and you don't have to figure it out by yourself. Our free, in-person learning circle helps adults 55+ stay safer, spot fakes, and use everyday AI with confidence.
What we help with
If any of these sound familiar, this program is for you.
Check the boxes that matter to you when you sign up below. We'll tailor the first session around the things your group wants to tackle first.
Step by step
Six steps, start to finish.
Tell us you're interested
Fill in the short form near the bottom of this page. It asks for your name, your email, and how to reach you. Nothing else. It takes about two minutes.
We get in touch
A real person from Applied AI Works Canada will email you — and phone you if you prefer. We'll tell you where and when the nearest learning circle is starting.
Come to the first session
You do not need a laptop, an account, or any experience. Bring your own phone or tablet if you'd like, or use one of ours. There is always coffee and there is always time to ask questions.
Learn one small thing at a time
Each week covers one idea: what AI actually is, what never to share online, how to spot a scam message, how to ask a question and get a useful answer. We go slowly, and we repeat things as often as you want.
Practise beside someone patient
Half of every session is hands-on practice with a facilitator or a senior peer mentor sitting beside you. Nobody is rushed. Nobody is made to feel behind.
Leave with something you can keep
You go home with a printed safety checklist, a scam-spotting card, example questions you can reuse, and a phone number to call if something ever feels wrong.
What to bring.
- Yourself — that's the only requirement
- Your phone or tablet, if you have one
- Your reading glasses
- A question you've always wanted to ask
Our promise to you.
- We will never ask for your banking information, SIN, or passwords.
- We will never sell you anything or pass your details to a salesperson.
- We do not give financial, legal, or medical advice — we teach and explain.
- You can ask the same question as many times as you need to.
- You can leave the program at any time, for any reason.
Questions people usually ask.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. The program is completely free. There is no fee, no membership, and nothing to buy.
- I'm not good with computers. Is that a problem?
- Not at all — that is exactly who this is for. Most people who join tell us they feel behind. You will never be asked to do anything alone.
- Do I need my own device?
- No. Bring a phone or tablet if you have one and want to use it. If not, we'll have a device you can borrow during the session.
- Will you ask for my banking or personal information?
- Never. We will never ask for banking details, SIN, passwords, or payment. If anyone claiming to be from us ever does, it is not us — please tell us right away.
- What if I can't make every week?
- Come when you can. Sessions stand on their own, and we'll catch you up in a few minutes at the start.
- Can I bring a friend or my spouse?
- Yes, please do. Many people find it easier to learn with someone they know. Just let us know so we can save a seat.
- Is this a sales pitch for something?
- No. We are a not-for-profit. We are not selling software, subscriptions, or advice. This is education only.
Step 1: tell us you're interested.
Four short questions. We'll do the rest. If you'd rather phone or email a person, you can — the details are below the form.
Prefer to talk to a person?
Email hello@appliedaiworks.ca and say you'd like to join the seniors program. Or use our contact page. A person reads every message.
