What we are doing now
A first pilot built for real community need.
Our first program is the AI Confidence Circle for Seniors — a free, plain-language learning pilot designed with older adults in mind and aligned with the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Why this exists
The tools got faster. The support did not.
AI and digital tools are moving quickly into everyday life: search, banking, health information, government services, forms, work, communication, scams, and small business tools. The tools are becoming more powerful, but many people are being left to figure them out alone.
Applied AI Works exists to close that gap. We create safe, plain-language learning pathways that help people understand new tools, protect themselves, build confidence, and participate more fully in modern digital life.

Applied AI Works Canada helps Canadians build the confidence and practical skills needed to use AI and digital tools safely. Our work begins with AI literacy, digital safety, scam awareness, and financial confidence, and expands into broader learning pathways for work readiness, small business basics, self-employment readiness, and economic resilience.
It is a practical public-learning institute: grounded, plain-language, hands-on, and built for people who need useful confidence more than theory.

The experience behind the model
Built from practical experience, not theory alone.
The founder brings experience across software engineering, public-sector technology delivery, consulting, business operations, and building practical digital tools. Applied AI Works translates that hands-on background into accessible education for people who want to understand AI, reduce digital overwhelm, and build more autonomy.
The organization is independent and community-focused. Its programs are developed from participant input and are not tied to any outside platform, product, or vendor.

Governance and advisory leadership
Applied AI Works Canada Institute is governed by a board of directors and supported by community advisors. The governance model is being built intentionally to combine technology experience, community education, senior-serving insight, financial literacy, accessibility, ethics, and responsible AI use.

Founder and interim board member. Lynn brings hands-on experience in software, business operations, consulting, and practical digital tools. She is guiding the organization’s early pilot, governance setup, and community-first program design.

Founding support and independence
Independent by design.
Applied AI Works Canada Institute was created as an independent not-for-profit organization. Early website, program design, and operational setup were supported on a pro bono basis by BOCG Inc., a Canadian consulting company founded by Lynn Taylor. Applied AI Works Canada Institute is governed separately and operates for not-for-profit educational and community purposes.
